As summer fades and fall approaches, Stepp’s Hillcrest Orchard begins our sunflower and zinnia season. Across our 8-acre field, over 10 sunflower varieties burst into bloom, showcasing different hues – from yellow and gold to orange, peach, red, plum, and even white and multi-colored varieties.
A Season-Long Spectacle
We utilize a technique called succession planting to ensure a continuous display of blooms throughout the fall season. This means new sunflowers are constantly maturing, offering you a fresh selection every week to 10 days. So, whenever you visit, you’re guaranteed to find a field with vibrant sunflowers waiting to be picked.
